When measuring organic metrics, there needs to be consistent communication back and forth between our clients and the agency.
We Won't Dazzle You With Vanity Metrics
Social Media: A vanity metric is any metric that does not directly lead to sales and customers. This can include impressions, likes, shares, retweets, repins and more.
These metrics help us determine if the audience construction is working or not, and helps guide the process. We can and will share these metrics with you, but they are not in and of themselves indicative of success.
Search Engines: A vanity metric in this scenario are things such as ‘links gained’ ‘mentions across the web’ ‘NAP Citations’ and so on.
Again these metrics help us measure and test our processes, we will happily share them with you, but once again they are not indicative of success.
